The Return of the Legend The Eyes of an Immigrant 

Although he has passed away,Mr.Siauw Erh Chien (Siao Erh Chien) stays alive on his beautiful and expressive paintings.

The late of Mr Siauw Erl Chien ,was born on September 16,1916,in MEI Province and imigrated to Indonesia in 1939, and stayed Indonesia.

He had been a talanted painter since he was in China,and continued moving his brushes even when he had reached the age of 61.

And Lee Man Fong met him,and they became very close friends. In Indonesian slang language their relationship is like "LINTINGAN" (cigarette paper and tobacco). He is just like a half teacher of Lee Man Fong.They died in the same year in 1988.

But Lee Man Fong's name has become more popular while Siauw Erl Chien often painted and kept his masterpiece works for himself,but later on August 14 to 26, he suddenly appeared at Balai Budaya with 64 pieces of his astonishing masterpieces. Some were sold out during his first painting exhibition. The other reason that he had been avoiding from publishing for the past years due to his status illegal immigrant at that time.

The painting with the theme "Pigeon" ( Burung Merpati)by Mr.Lee Man Fong on the auction looks exactly like my father's painting.I really do not know whose idea it is,said his daughter Linny Siauw sadly with full disappointment upon so many rejections on his dad's paintings by valuers as Mr.Siao is not famous.

According to Mr. Putu Wijaya and other famous artists,the master often painted on the objects that exist on this earth.His masterpiece a hundred Sparrows environment was created style. The color of the soil, the nature of the trees, the seasons, the hills look, hazy atmosphere, way of life and so on, may have moved the painter of traditional Chinese brushes to achieve a poetic form that famous temper.The colors are soft, smooth strokes, feels the cold of the mountains and the distant environment revealed that Mr.Siauw painted over fantasy,and he never really left his homeland environment.
Paintings like: 10 Tail Goldfish, Bird Kite, especially at the Lotus Tree orioles, Black Bamboo, Bird Road in Willow Tree etc - was poignant because it is very poetic.Mr.Siauw Erh Chien has become the eyes of an immigrant eversince.

Some of his paintings have not been put into frame put or scroll yet, in raw paper condition,are really originals.These are chinese classical ink paintings by Maestro Siauw Erl Chien acquired directly from the his daughter,Linny Siauw
